$45 an hour

The tutor’s travel is included, anywhere in Quebec.

Anywhere in Quebec

Our tutors travel across the whole province, not only the major centres.

A report after every session

You know what was covered, even if you were not there.

Background checks done

The check is part of the recruitment of every tutor.

Why in your home

When being there in person changes everything.

The screen does not hold

Younger children switch off after twenty minutes of video call. In person, attention holds because someone is really there.

The material is right there

The workbook, the textbook, the failed test still in the bag. The tutor sees straight away what was misunderstood.

You can see what is happening

You are in the next room. For many parents, that is what makes the difference in the first few weeks.

The area we cover

Anywhere in Quebec, with no travel fees.

In-home tutoring is offered anywhere in Quebec, at the same hourly rate and with no travel fees. Depending on your area, finding the right tutor may take a few extra days: we will tell you straight on the first call.

  • Montreal, Laval, Longueuil and the surrounding areas
  • Quebec City, Lévis and neighbouring areas
  • Sherbrooke, Trois-Rivières, Gatineau, Saguenay and other regions
  • If no tutor is available near you, online tutoring takes over, at $40 an hour
How it works

Four steps, a little longer than online.

1You write to us

The form takes two minutes. State your city: that is what lets us look for a tutor near you.

2We call you back

The same day. We ask the teaching questions and look at who is available in your area.

3We search near you

This is the step that takes time. We would rather take an extra day and find the right person than the opposite.

4Free assessment

Thirty minutes at your home, with a written report and a follow-up call. You then decide.

Frequently asked questions

What parents ask about travel.

Do you travel to my city?

We cover the whole of Quebec in person. In the major centres matching is quick; in less densely served areas it sometimes takes a few extra days to find the right person. If no tutor is available near you, we offer online tutoring at $40 an hour, and we tell you on the first call.

Are there travel fees?

No separate fee. The in-home rate is $45 an hour, against $40 online: the $5 difference already covers the tutor’s travel.

How long to get an in-home tutor?

A little longer than online, and it depends on your area. You are called back the same day, but finding the right person near you sometimes takes a few days. We would rather take that time than send you someone who is not a fit.

Do I need to prepare anything at home?

A table, two chairs and a quiet spot are enough. The tutor brings their own material. It helps to have the workbooks, the marked tests and the latest report card to hand.

Do I have to stay during the session?

Do whatever feels right. Many parents stay in the next room the first few times, then let it run. Either way, you receive a written report after every session.

Are the tutors vetted?

Yes. A criminal record check is part of the recruitment process, alongside tutoring experience and knowledge of the Quebec curriculum. To be confirmed the details of the procedure and how often it is renewed.
