What parents ask.
Does the tutor do the homework for my child?
No, and that matters. Homework done by someone else is useless, both for learning and for the teacher marking it. The tutor explains, guides and checks, but the student is the one who writes.
Is one hour a week enough?
For many students, yes. The aim is not to redo school at home, but to unblock what is stuck and put a method in place. If the gap is wider, we move to two sessions, often temporarily.
Is a subscription required?
No. You can pay by the hour, $40, with no commitment. The 10- and 15-hour blocks exist to lower the hourly rate, but they are never compulsory.
My child struggles in several subjects.
Block hours are shareable: they can cover several subjects, and even several children in the same family. We usually start with the most urgent subject.
Do you talk to the school teacher?
Only if you want us to. Some parents prefer that we deal with the school directly, others do not. You decide.
What if my child refuses?
It happens, especially at first. The free 30-minute assessment session is partly for that: seeing whether they click. If they do not, you can change tutor up to twice.
