The tutor who knows mathematics best at your child’s level.
You know what was covered and what still needs work.
Every level, ministry exams included.
The check is part of recruiting every tutor.
Maths cannot be caught up by revising harder
A fraction misunderstood in Grade 6 becomes an impossible equation in Secondary 3. The problem is almost never where it shows.
In ministry exams the working is marked. A student who finds the right answer without explaining it loses points.
It is usually one specific idea that is missing, not an aptitude. The tutor finds which one in a single session.
Mathematics, level by level.
Number sense, operations, fractions, problem solving, preparation for the Grade 6 exam.
Algebra, proportions, geometry, setting up equations. The base the whole of secondary rests on.
CST, TS and SN. Preparation for the Secondary 4 exam, which counts for half the result.
Differential and integral calculus, linear algebra, statistics. The first term unsettles even strong students.
$40 an hour online, $45 in your home.
The same price whatever the subject and whatever the tutor’s profile. Travel is included in the in-home rate.
What parents ask us.
My child says they are bad at maths. Can that be fixed?
Almost always. In most cases one specific idea is missing, often learned two or three years earlier. The first session is there to find which one.
Do you cover all three Secondary 4 and 5 sequences?
Yes, CST, TS and SN. The tutor assigned is the one who knows the sequence your child is following.
Do you prepare for the mathematics ministry exam?
Yes. It is a frequent request in spring. The Secondary 4 exam counts for 50% of the final result in the competencies assessed.
Do you cover CEGEP calculus?
Yes, up to and including CEGEP. We do not go beyond; university is not our service.
How many hours should we plan?
For a targeted gap, 10 hours is often enough. To follow a full school year, the 15-hour block is the most chosen.
